Abstract:
Computational horsepower and real time optimization software are no
longer the limiting factors in developing a non-linear real-time
optimization application To implement a successful real time
optimization application there needs to be sufficient non linearity in
the process and available operating flexibility to take advantage of the
optimization solution. For conversion units the reactor model needs to
adequately match plant process conditions. Additionally, there needs to
a be work process in place and sufficient resources available to
effectively utilize the online optimizer.
